SBRT/SABR Oligometastatic Prostate Cancer

Learn about how we use radiation to treat oligometastatic cancers.

Case 1: 67 y/o male with history of robotic assisted prostatectomy for prostate cancer. Patient had rising PSA. His urologist ordered a PSMA (prostate specific membrane antigen)-PET scan which showed only uptake in the left acetabulum. There was no PSMA uptake anywhere else in the prostate bed or body. Patient did not want to start androgen deprivation therapy yet and was referred to radiation oncology for consideration of stereotactic body radiotherapy.
